Minor mistakes but deep influence

When I was in Vietnam, I have never made a presentation as well as standing in front of my classmates and teachers to talk about something. That is why I was shocked when I came to U.S, the instructors last quarter gave me two assignments per week, and one of them was presentation.

The first time hearing it, I was afraid so much. Although I tried to prepare everything like materials, lots of information with beautiful visuals, one thing was forgotten: eye contacting! This is the most embarrassing with me because during the presentation, I just looked at the instructor’s chest instead of everybody. There was 4 times she tugged her coat before I finished my topic and I could be in trouble if looking at a woman’s chest. However, she did not violently criticize after that, she just made a small appointment and gave me a clue. It was also the first time a teacher told me a big problem with a soft voice. Without a clear thought, I said out:”You are so f**king cool, Ms!”

Once again, I put myself in a path! Sometimes, I heard some people said that whenever they want to show their impression, so do I. however, there is one rule, you cannot say that with the one you respect. Until now, I still remember how come her surprise was visible. Of course, the instructor did not angry me because she knows I’m an international student, and tried to save the last 15 minutes every day to teach me about the culture in U.S.

These are the first two experiences I have learnt since I have been in a new country. Maybe not too big, but they affected me deeply, especially that instructor, who gave me those experience , also the first one I respect so much in here!
